The Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College Library

Library services
The college library has the open shelf system since the time of its inception. Students enjoy both reading room and borrowing facilities. The library remains open throughout the college hours. There is a rich collection of books in all subjects.

Network Resource Centre
The Network Resource Centre now has four computers connected with LAN. The students can use the internet facility free of cost. Facility for printing downloaded material will be soon available.

Library Computerisation
Computerised cataloguing of current books is in progress with the installation of LYBSIS Software. The target is to have a fully computerized library system.

Reprography
The Library has many rare and out of print books. For preservation, borrowing of such books are prohibited.  Reprographic facilities of the college can be used to obtain photocopies.

Preservation of Books
To preserve and maintain books, the library has a fumigation chamber and regular, pest control treatments.
